Itinerary

Day 1- Meru National Park, Elsa’s Kopje

On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Wilson Airport to catch the Air Kenya scheduled flight which departs at 09h15. On arrival into Meru you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Elsa’s Kopje. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Elsa’s Kopje is named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film “Born Free”. Elsa’s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, with one of the most spectacular settings. Invisible as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill, Elsa’s Kopje blends into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson’s original campsite. Every cottage is the ultimate ‘room-with-a-view’, uniquely designed and crafted, incorporating the natural features of the rocky hillside. Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks, bush meals, sundowners, Tana river excursions, line fishing and massage.

Day 4- Kalama Conservancy, Saruni Samburu

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your AirKenya scheduled flight to Samburu. You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Saruni Samburu. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Saruni Samburu is a ‘design’ lodge located 7km north of Samburu National Reserve. Surrounded by 95,000 hectares of private wildlife conservancy, and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint, its four large rooms and swimming pool overlook a breathtakingly vast landscape. Our game drives include Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and our own Kalama Conservancy. Led by professional Samburu guides, our guests enjoy a new dimension of this rightfully popular region: the feeling of exclusivity, of having an incredibly large area to themselves, and a high level of comfort and tailor-made service.

Day 7- Masai Mara National Reserve, Elephant Pepper Camp

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the Safarilink scheduled flight to the Masai Mara departing at 10h00. On arrival at the Mara North Airstrip, your driver/guide will meet you and transfer you to camp. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Elephant Pepper Camp is a small and exclusive safari camp, situated in the heart of the Masai Mara’s protected Mara North Conservancy. The camp looks out across the Mara’s vast open savannah plains. Our spacious canvas tents are comfortably furnished, featuring solar lighting, and en suite bathrooms with flush toilets and traditional safari showers. Elephant Pepper Camp brings people back to nature – no traffic, no permanent structures, just the sights and sounds of the African bush.

Day 10 – Galu Beach, Kinondo Kwetu

After an early lunch, at 13h00 you will be transferred to the airstrip for the Mombasa Air schedule flight to Ukunda departing at 14h00. Arriving at 16h00, you will be met and transferred to Kinondo Kwetu. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis. All extras are payable direct.

Home to Ida and Filip Andersson, a Swedish family related to the famed Baron Blixen, Kinondo Kwetu is often described as a ‘home away from home’ - a paradise for those wanting a more personal experience on the Kenyan coast. Located on a tranquil private beach south of Diani, Kinondo Kwetu is classified as a ‘Kaya’ area (protected by the National Museum) due to its surrounding holy forests and sacred land. Kinondo’s various forms of accommodation are all surrounded by green shady gardens, and just a few steps from the white sandy beach. In addition to relaxing in the sun and swimming in the Indian Ocean, Kinondo Kwetu offers a range of activities– from water-sports such as kite surfing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving, to land activities such as game drives, horse riding and Yoga Weeks.

Day 13 - Depart

At 15h00, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the 16h00 Safarilink scheduled flight back to Wilson. Arriving at 17h20, a representative will meet and transfer you either for dinner before your international flight, or direct to the international airport for your journey home. End of arrangements
