Located on Matemwe beach on Zanzibar's north-east coast, this small lodge offers an excellent destination at affordable prices. Popular with divers who come to dive off nearby Mnemba Atoll, the atmosphere is relaxed, meals of good quality and the rooms comfortable with plenty of hot and cold water for showers to rinse off before settling in the lounge for a drink before dinner.

Matemwe Beach Village is a Zanzibari guesthouse - not a hotel and not a resort and we regard this as a matter of pride. At Matemwe Beach we have guests and not clients, they relax; make themselves at home amongst our books, games and huge cushions. They make great friends amongst the staff and amongst the other guests. Our aim is a simple one: to provide authentic, stylish and comfortable accommodation, in an atmosphere of relaxed hospitality and friendliness, while services are provided effectively and efficiently. We live in peaceful co-existence with the villagers who conduct their lives amongst us.
