One of Tanzania's remotest and most pristine safari locations is located right at the base of Mahale Mountains on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Here you can experience Chimpanzee trekking in Tanzania's remotest National Park, accessible only by air and boat.

A fantastic extension to any safari to Tanzania. Starting in Arusha, the center for Tanzania's Tourist industry, you will fly in a small aircraft (usually 12 seat Cessna Caravan)to Mahale Mountains - a shared charter lasting several hours. To reach the camp from the airstrip, the journey continues by boat along the untouched tropical shoreline of the worlds deepest lake to the sandy shores where camp is located. No vehicles or day trippers here.

Once in camp, activities will focus on chimpanzee trekking into the mountains, led by experienced local guides. Other activities include snorkeling, birdwatching and sailing on the lake and kicking back to enjoy the remote tranquility.
